The flat surface is very tricky and stubborn, and any attempt to "cheat" results in a pseudo dimension that fails to cheat anyone. Line art, photograph, foreground/background dynamic... nothing really escapes the boundaries of the two dimensional realm, although, at times, can fool your eye into believing that the 3-D magic is happening.

Founder of The Art e-School and Art Pill, and the Understanding Dimensions, a cross-discipline course about shapes and dimensions as described by geometry, seen in art and understood in science, where students learn about one, two, and three dimensions, examine tessellations and fractals, then use this knowledge to analyze artworks ranging from the drawings of M. C. Escher or the impressionist paintings of Claude Monet, to the conceptual art of Mel Bochner. Through lectures, discussions, hands-on modeling, and small group work, students gain a strong foundation to further study geometry, as well as an appreciation of the mathematical aspects of art, while grasping the current scientific understanding of the universe.
