Adrian W. Smith was born in 1860 in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States.

Career

Mr. Smith acquired training and architectural experience in Baltimore, later established his own office in Philadelphia.

During a brief career (cut short by death when he was but thirty-two years of age) Mr. Smith established a reputation in designing Roman Catholic churches and institutional buildings, with the Convent of the Visitation at Wilmington Delaware, and Convent of the Sacred Heart in Philadelphia, two or his best known works.
