Educated Escuela Nacional Preparatoria, Escuela de Arquitectura, Academy Nacional de Bellas Artes. Studied in Europe, 1925-1928, where he attended the theatrical school L’Atelier of Charles Dullin. Although Sr. Lazo handles successfully easel painting, engraving, gouache, water colors, and ink, he has achieved special recognition as a scene painter.
For the 1932 season of Teatro Hidalgo, he designed the scenery for Los Hermanos Karamazoff and La Doble señora Morli. For the 1932-1934 seasons of Teatro de Orientación, he painted the scenery for Antigona, Macbeth, Una Petición dc mano, Entremés del viejo celoso, El Matrimonio, El Doctor Knock, Liliom, Jorge Dadin, A la sombra del mal, Ifigenia (by Alfonso Reyes), Parece mentira and En qué piensas (by Xavier Villaurrutia), and Ser o no ser and La Escuela del amor (by Celestino Gorostiza). Later joined theater of University Nacional de México and supplied the decorations for The Knights (Aristophanes), 1936.
Some of his easel paintings are to be found in important collections in the United States of America.
