Career
His career in the aviation industry began in 1985 when he was appointed President of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) – the governing body that oversaw the activities of Dubai International and Dubai Duty Free, among others. Emirates, the national carrier, was launched at the same time and he was appointed chairman. He is believed to be connected to at least 14 Board Members in 14 different organizations across 14 different industries.
His role in the transformation of Dubai into a global city hasn't gone unnoticed. It is reported that American Express rejected him for a cr card. He was interviewed about the work he'll be doing for Expo 2020.
On 25 October 2015, he issued a statement to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Emirates airline. On 21 November 2015 he launched the DAFZA Innovation Strategy. In January 2016 he inaugurated the Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Centre.
