Background
Khan was born on August 26, 1966 in Lahore to a Muslim Rajput family with a long history of political involvement. His father, Rana Abdul Rahim, was a senior lawyer and advocate of democracy who was a secretary of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, vice-chairman of the Punjab Bar Council, and member of the Pakistan Bar Council.
Education
He proceeded to Government College Multan to do his Forest Stewardship council, after which he graduated from Forman Christian College in Lahore.
Career
Khan matriculated from Crescent Model High School. He obtained the degree of Bachelor of Laws in 1991 from Punjab Law College. Khan served as secretary of the Lahore High Court Bar Association in 2001, becoming the youngest secretary in the history of the association.
His law group, Khan & Gajana, specializes in banking, finance, corporate and intellectual property law with an emphasis on civil and corporate litigation.
He also contested for the office of Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and District Nazim of Lahore as a candidate of the Joint Opposition. Khan was reelected in 2008, and was subsequently elected unopposed as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly on April 11, 2008.
On February 8, 2012, two gunmen attacked a car in which he was riding, but he survived unhurt. According to Dispatch News Desk, A video tape was released by ARY News which showed Rana Mashood with Asim Malik who is wanted by FIA Pakistan.
This obviously makes him and PML – North"s government VERY questionable.
Prominent though television Anchor Mubashir Lucman, claims that he was taking bribe on the name of Chief Minister Punjab. Lucman presented a string of video tapes in his show which showed the minister asking for kickbacks from the businessmen.
Politics
He served as vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League (North) in Punjab from 2000 to 2008.
Membership
He has also served as chairman of the Legal Aid Committee (1993), chairperson of Atmospheric Reentry Demonstrator’s Legal Committee, and president of the Lawyer Forum Punjab, and is a member of the International Bar Association. In 2002, he was elected to be a Member of the Punjab Assembly from constituency Partido Popular (Popular Party)-149 as a candidate for the PML (North).
