Senior research fellow Government Medical College, Patiala, 1966-1967. Intern Government R.H. Patiala, 1964-1965, house physician, 1965-1966. Research officer in medicine Government Medical College, 1967-1972.

Practice medicine specializing in immunology vascular medicine, allergy and neurology, Patiala. Assistant director, head medicine department and laboratories Central Research Institute, Patiala, 1972-1976. Head University Health Center Punjabi University, Patiala, 1976-1983, chief medical officer, since 1983.

Visiting member faculty General Hospital, Newcastle University, England, 1982.
