Akabashi Moritoki was born in Japan. His family descended from Nagatoki, grandsan of Yoshitoki Hojo. Akabashrs younger sister married Takauji Ashikaga.

Career
Was Shikken or Prime Minister of the Shogunate, Lord of Sagami (Kanagawa Prefecture) under Takatoki Hojo. He defended Kamakura, the seat of the Shogunate government, at Kobukuro.guchi in 1333 against the forces of Yoshisada Nitta whose aim was to take Kamakura and destory the Shogunate, in the incident known as Genko-no-ran.
Connections
The Akabashi family became extinct when his son, ShigetoKi, was punished with death for his participation in the revolt of Tokivuki Hojo.
