Background
There are two Akai Tozens, father and son who were natives of Toko - name in Owari Province (Aichi Prefec¬ture). The senior commonly called Shin- roku, lived from 1796 until 1858. He studied under Priest Seishu and was em¬ployed by the Tokugawa Family, the daimyo of Owari.
