Akai Yonekichi

Background

Akai Yonekichi was born in 1887 in Ishikawa Prefecture.

Education

He graduated from Hiroshima Higher Normal School (1912) taught English at Ehime Normal School, Obama Marine School, Takeo Middle School and Akita Normal School.

Career

In 1924 he founded, and became presdient of Myojo Gakuen. He headed the Japanese delegation to the 7th World New Education Conference in England in 1936. He founded, and became president of the Kanazawa Women’s College (Kanazawa Joshi Semmon Gakuen) in 1945. He became President of the Hoku-riku Newspaper.
