Involved in a revolt of peasants in Fukuchiyama, he was jailed. His works include Awaji-nokuni Meisho-zue (a pictorial guide-book of Awaji Island) and Kompira-sankei Meisho-zue (a pictorial guide-book for pilgrims to the Kompira Shrine in Shikoku).
