Akira Tawarada was born in 1884 in Ube, Japan.
Graduated from Higher Course of Electric engineering Department of Tokyo Kogakum (Institute of Engineeriing)(1912).
Akira Tawarada became director of Ube Cement Manufacturing Company (1923), toured Europe and America to inspect chemical industry (1928 and 1933), served concurrently as senior managing director of Okinoyama Coal Mine and president of Ube Nitrogen Industry Company, merged Ube Kosan into his own company and established the new Ube Kosan becoming its president (1942).
Held additional posts of trustee of Federation of Economic Organizations and Japan Industrial Council. Also served successively as president of Korea Cement Company, supervisor of Teikoku Fuel Industry Company, director of Cement Industry Association and Japan Coal Mining Association, president of Seibu Coal Mining Association and chairman of Yamaguchi Prefectural Council on Electric Power and member of Kational Coal Mine Control Council.
