Graduated from Kyoto University in 1913. He also studied in America and Europe in 1929-1931.
Career
After graduation from Kyoto University in 1913, he became an officer at the Ministry of Imperial Household in 1924 and a judge at the Imperial Museum. He resigned from the Imperial Museum in 1945. He was also managing director of the Japan Arts Society and councillor to the Bridgestone Arts Museum. He also served as an instructor at Hosei University and Kanazawa College of Arts and Technology.
