Career
He was first discovered by Joey Gosiengfiao and launched by the latter via the Regal Films movie, Iskandalo (Scandals), starring Lorna Tolentino and released in July 1979.Then in 1987 he played his first villain role to Rudy Fernandez in an action movie Humanda Ka, Ikaw Ang Susunod (You Been Ready, You Are Next). As a film director, he directs comedies, mainly with Viva Films. He has directed Mana-Mana, Tiba-Tiba, S2pid Love, A.B. Normal College, and more.
In 2014 Tantay replaced the late Roy Alvarez for the character of Villa Quintana as Don Manolo Quintana.
