The Practice was founded in 1893 by J.M. Cleaver of a prominent Belfast family. In line with other comparable practices in Belfast, it then expanded gradually but during the past two decades the practice has very considerably increased in size and case load and now has a special emphasis on commercial and company work, work for education and charitable bodies and other public and institutional authorities, and on private client work of all categories.
