Mr. Buchman studied architecture at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, United States and was graduated at the age of twenty.
Albert found employment in the office of the late Henry Schwarzmann where he remained a draftsman until 1890. During the next decade, he practiced under the firm name of Buchman and Deisler, afterward joined Mortimer J. Fox in a partnership which was maintained seventeen years. In that period Buchman and Fox did much commercial work in the city, including several large retail stores, also they were architects of the Annex to the New York Times Building, and the New York World Tower Building.
In the latter phase of his career, Mr. Buchman participated actively in the large and successful practice carried on under the firm name of Buchman O Kahn. Ill-health forced his retirement in the latter year, and he spent the remainder of his life at his home at 210 Riverside Drive.
