He worked at AccuWeather in State College, Pennsylvania, as a sales representative for sales in 1989. In addition, he worked as a science teacher in high school, ice cream maker, glass and nuclear reactor operator.
He was a member of such organizations as Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Authors Guild, Authors League of America, Pennwriters.
He married Gwendolyn Elaine Gettig (trade manager) on October 12, 1974. They had three children: Christina Hilary, Kimberly Rebecca, Jamie Alison.
