Working at accounting during winters and variously as harvest hand, railroad car repairer, laborer in packing house, short order cook in restaurant, et cetera, during summers.
Spent 6 months in Europe with group of artists, then hitchhiked through Germany and worked passage home on South.S. America. Also spent 1926-1927 in Sicily.
Began specializing in building and loan and bank accounting, 1927. Partner in manufacturing fibre specialties, 1929.
