Judge Court of Common Pleas, 3d Sub-Division of 7th Judicial District of Ohio, 1904-1913. Resumed practice at Portsmouth, O. Director Farmers National Bank (Manchester), 1st National Bank (West Union).
While judge, disfranchised 1,691 electors of Adams Company, upon their pleas of guilty to indictments for accepting bribes at election held November, 1910.
During term of office, granted no motion for new trial, on ground that verdict of jurors was against the weight of evidence. Received pleas of guilty from all but 2 of the last 217 persons brought before him for sentence (not election bribery cases).
