Career
Scheick, who is originally from The Village of Brooklyn, Michigan, has pursued a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Alaska Anchorage, aided by the scholarship she received from winning the Mission Alaska United States of America pageant. Her ambition is to be a broadcaster on Entertainment and Sports Programming Network, and her particular passion is ice hockey. Her work has included hosting Around the WCHA on cable channel KMDM, camera time with ESPN2 at the 2003 Great Alaska Shootout for the Duke and Purdue Championship game, and intermission reports at Seawolf hockey games.
Scheick"s interests include traveling and working with children, which she has combined by working as a nanny in Italy on two occasions.
In 2006, this work allowed her to experience the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin. She reported on the games for The Northern Light, an independent newspaper of the University of Alaska Anchorage.
On 4 November 2006, Scheick passed on her Mission Alaska United States of America crown to Noelle Meyer of Fairbanks.
