Radovanović was born on August 2, 1900, in Marići near Medveđa (in modern southern Serbia).

At the age of fifteen he volunteered and joined the group of vojvoda (duke) Kosta Vojnović. In early October 1914, he was wounded while fighting Bulgarian troops. He participated in the Albanian golgotha, Salonika front and struggles for liberation of Serbia and other Serbian lands.
In January 1919, he was invited to serve in the Royal Yugoslav Army.
He served eighteen months in the King"s Guard in Belgrade. He fought in World World War II in Prizren, where he joined the Yugoslav Partisans.
He was wounded and taken prisoner by the Bulgarians. He died on 23 June 2004 and was buried in his birth village.
