1909 graduate Berlin and Moscow university.
Career
Studied experimental research methods. 1916 published first major work Metod ankety v pedagogicheskom i psikhologicheskom issledovanii (The Questionnaire Method in Pedagogical and Psychological Research). 1923 reviewed psychological aspects of problem of establishing labor schools in his book Trudovaya shkola psikhologicheskom osveshchenii (The Labor School in the Light of Psychology).
Towards the end of his life he studied the theory and methods of pedag diagnostics.
