DUSHECHKIN, Aleksandr was born on August 13, 1874 in village Opechenskiy Ryadok, now Novgorod Oblast.
1897 graduate Saint St. Petersburg University. 1897-1899 studied at Zurich Polytech Institute.
1903-1912 worked at agrochemical laboratory of a network of experimental fields set up by All-Russian Social of Sugar-Growers. 1915-1930 head, Department of Agrochemistry, Kiev Oblast Experimental Station. 1923-1956 founder, professor and head, Chair of Agrochemistry, Kiev Agric Institute.
1946-1953 director, Institute of Plant Physiology and Agrochemistry, Ukraine Academy of Sciences (now Ukraine Research Institute of Plant Physiology). Specialized in plant nutrition and fertilizers.
