1934-1940 senior associate, Institute of World Economy and World Politics. 1942-1950 senior associate. Pacific Institute; from 1950 senior associate, Institute of Oriental Studies, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences.
1932-1934 also taught at Frunze Military Academy. 1941-1947 taught at Moscow’s Lenin Teachers’ Training Institute. From 1947 also taught at Moscow University.
Wrote numerous works on history of Japan and international relations in Far East.
