KIZEVETTER, Aleksandr was born on May 10, 1866.
1888 graduate Moscow University.
1903-1911 associate professor, Moscow University. Then taught on Moscow Advanced Courses for Women. Believed in constitutional monarchy.
1904 joined League for the Liberation of the Working Class. From 1906 member, Central Committee, Constitutional-Democratic Party. Member, 2nd State Duma.
Contributed to Constitutional-Democratic journals Russkaya mysl' and Russkiye vedomosti. 1922 deported from the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics for counter-revol activities. 1922-1933 professor of Russian history, Prague University.
Adhered to South. M. Solovyov and V. O. Klyuchevskiy’s school of history. Worked on Russian history of the 18th and early 19th centuries. Wrote various studies on the history of Russia in the 1860’s and on social history.
