In 1890’s sided with Social-Dcmocrats. From 1899 member, Yekatcrinoslav Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Committee. 1900 arrested again, then emigrated.
Worked for editorial board, “economist” journal “Rabocheye delo” and polemicized with Lenin’s newspaper “Iskra”. 1903 attacked “Iskra” group at 2nd Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Congress. After Congress sided with Mensheviks.
Delegation at 4th and 5th Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Congress. At 5th Congress elected member, Central Committee, Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party. During World War 1 adopted centrist, then Menshevik-internationalist stand.
Opposed 1917 October Revol. 1918 member, left wing of Central Committee, Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party(Mensheviks). Subsequently drifted away from Mensheviks.
1918-1922 teacher in Ukraine. 1923 agitated for liquidation of Geo Social-Democratic Party. 1923 at 12th Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Congress admitted to Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks).
Worked for Institute of Marx and Engels. From 1924 member, editorial board, journal “Kommunisticheskiy intematsional".
