From same year member, Pirogov Surgical Social, in which he subsequently held the posts of secretary, deputy chairman and chairman.

Trained numerous surgeons and sponsored 53 doctor’s theses. Developed surgical techniques for treating gunshot stomach wounds, intestinal fistula, etc, and devised a nerve-trunk blocking technique. Developed theory of the pre-cancerous state and described the metastases in the collectors of the lymphatic nodes at various stages of cancer of the stomach.
Wrote over 120 works.
