1851 graduate Medical Faculty, Kazan’ University.
As a student specialized in obstetrics. From 1851 physician, Turinsk Mine, Urals, where he gained considerable surgical experience. Later transferred to Bogoslovskiy Plant, Urals.
From 1859 chief physician, Verkh-Isetsk plants. 1852 one of first Russian surgeons to perform a successful strumectomy. In the course of his career performed some 10,000 major operations and 4,000 cataract operations, treating over 300,000 patients and making over one million doctor’s calls.
1867 underwent advanced ophthalmological and surgical training in Germany and France. 1879 performed first laparotomy for removal of ovarian cysts. 1901 the fiftieth anniversary of the start of his medical career was celebrated throughout the Urals with the establishment of scholarships in his name and work on a Mislavskiy Eye Clinic covering the Ural mines.
Correspondent member of Belgian, Italian, French, British, American and Austrian sci societies Wrote numerous works. Presented papers at surgical and ophthalmological congresses.
