MYASNIKOV, Aleksandr was born on February 9, 1886 in Rostov-on-Don.
Studied at Arm seminary and high-school classes at Lazarev Institute of Oriental Languages, Moscow. 1911 graduate Law Faculty, Moscow University.
Fall 1906 arrested, but escaped and fled to Baku, where he conducted revol work. 1912 — 14 assistant to notary-public in Moscow. Also wrote and worked as freelance journalist.
From 19 14 in Tsarist Army. Revol propaganda among troops. From early February 1917 member, Front Committee, Western Front and head of its Bolshevik faction.
Together with Frunze founded and edited Bolshevik newspapers “Zvezda” in Minsk. Delegation at 6th Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) Congress, reporting on situation on Western Front. Helped organize 1917 October Revol in Minsk.
September 1917 at 1st Northwestern Oblast Bolshevik Conference elected chairman, Northwestern Oblast Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) Committee. October 1917 elected chairman, Bolshevik Military Revol Committee, Western Oblast. November 1917 at Western Front Congress of Soldiers and Officers’ Deputy elected commander, Western Front.
Foreign a while acting Supreme Commander in Chief. Spring 1918 appointed commander, Volga Front. Early 1919 elected chairman, Belorussian Central Executive Committee.
Then chairman, Centr Bureau, Communist Party Belorussian. 1919-1921 military organizer, Moscow Party Committee. Then secretary Moscow Party Committee.
Summer 1920 head, Polit Board and head, Main Polit Board, Western Front. 1921 chairman, Arm Council of Minister and Arm People's Commissar for Military Affairs. From 1922 chairman, Transcaucasian SFSR Union Council.
Then first secretary, Transcaucasian Kray Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Committee. At 12th and 13th Party Congresses elected candidate member, Central Committee, Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks). Also ed, newspaper “Zarya Vostoka”.
