Main Astronomical Observatory, Ukraine Academy of Sciences. Supervised a gravimetric survey of Ukraine Soviet Socialist Republic and led expeditions to Altay and Siberia. Did research on tidal and latitudinal fluctuations in the force of gravity.
Also studied the nutation of the Earth’s axis and obtained precise data on the movement of the poles. Wrote over 130 works.
