From 1900 designer, Khar’kov Locomotive-Building Plant. From 1910 designer, Putilov (later Kirov) Plant, Saint St. Petersburg. From 1920 also professor, Petrograd Polytech Institute.
Designed various locomotives, including underframe of first Soviet diesel locomotive SHCH-EL-I. Also invented graphoanalylical method of calculating counterweights, method of calculating individual components of locomotivs, et cetera
