Career
From 1919 professor, Tbilisi University. From 1929 head, Geo Branch, All-Union Institute of Mineral Raw Materials (now Caucasian Institute of Mineral Raw Materials). From 1941 chairman, Council for the Study of Production Resources), Geo Academy of Sciences.
Specialist in mineralogy and petrography of Georgia 1916 discovered Gumbrin deposits, then studied Gumbrin, Askana and other deposits of bleaching clays and helped develop industry exploitation of these clays. Wrote a number of textbooks in Russian and Georgia
