1898—1906 (with intervals) worked for Moscow Arts Theater. 1901 began stage director work in Yaroslavl. Actor and stage director at theaters in Tiflis, Riga, Kherson and Kiev.
1909-1910 chief stage director, Korsh Theater, Moscow. 1911-1916 actor and stage director, Alexandrine Theater, Petrograd. After 1917 October Revol worked for over 10 years in Ukraine.
Directed Shevchenko Theater in Kiev, then Khar’kov Krasnozavodskiy Theater. Then actor and stage director at theaters in Penza, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Kovrov, et cetera 1939-1941 at Saratov Young Playgoers’ Theater and Saratov’s Marx Theater.
From 1901 taught stagecraft at South.V. Khalyutina’s Studio, Moscow Arts Theater School, Sukhodol’skaya Theater Studio, et cetera From 1920 professor, Kiev Musical Drama Institute. Wrote many articles on the theater.
