Aleksandra Ishimova was born on December 25,1804 in Kostroma, Russian Federation. From the nobility.

From the beginning of the 1830s she turned to professional literary creativity. Author of many books for children of cognitive and moralizing nature. Ishimova was acquainted with A.S. Pushkin, who highly appreciated her "History of Russia ...".
The summer of 1858, Ishimova spent in the village of Khrenovoye Bobrovsky district of the Voronezh province (where he was a relative at the stud farm). The manuscript of travel notes on the trip to Khrenovoye is kept in the personal fund of Ishimova (Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin’s House)).
