Targamadze, Aleksandras was born on February 11, 1953 in Baikit, Krasnojarsk, Russia. Son of Elizbaras and Nijole Targamadze.


Diploma in engineering, Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, Lithuania, 1976. Doctor of Philosophy, Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, 1981. Doctor Habilitatus in Technological Sciences, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania, 1990.

Director computation center KTU, 1991—1992, professor software engineering, since 1991, vice-rector academic affairs, 1992—2000, dean faculty of informatics, since 2001.
