Disputed that soc-hcon differentiation in agric was result of capitalist development. Viewed economics inequality of peasant farms as a consequence of demographic (family) differentiation. Beginning 1904 wrote a number of works on economics and organisation of peasant farming, agric distr, agric cooperation, credits and marketing relations of peasant farming based on so-called labor and consumer theory of agric economics.
According to this theory, leading element in evolution and organisation of agric farming is the family and "each combination of the needs of a farming family and its labor resources calculated per unit of arable land corresponds to a certain structure, size and state of agric productive branches, id est (that is), a certain type of farm organisation”. 1927 returned to Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics. Wrote numerous works on economics problems, farming organisation and agric policy. Elaborated his pre-revol theory of organizing individual peasant farms by economics measures conducive to individual fanning.
Essence of this theory, advocated from 1928 to 1930, was proposal to reorganize policy of prices, credit and processing of agric produce so as to favor and stimulate development of individual farming. Opposed All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) general policy of industrialization and socialist reorganization of agriculture 1928-1930 repeatedly attacked establishment of sovkhozes (state farms), demonstrating their unprofitability, and objected to support rendered to kolkhozes.
