Representative of the Russian merchant princes (Tretiakov, Morozov) whose capital, artistic taste and passion made possible the amazing flowering of art in late 19thearly 20th century Russia. Collected an extremely rich museum of dramatic art, 1894. Donated his museum to the Russian Academy of Sciences, 1913.
The Bakhrushin Theatre Museum in Moscow still remains a unique showcase of theatrical art.
