Fought in World War 1. From July 1919 in Red Army. 1919-1921 commanded platoon, cavalry regt aide-de-camp, then commanded 7th Cavalry Regt and separate cavalry brigade.
After Civil War commanded cavalry brigade. Assistant cavalry inspector, Transvolga Military district. Commanded brigade in 10th Cavalry Division.
Commander and military comissar, 5th Stavropol’ Cavalry' Division. 1935 commander and comissar, 10th Cavalry Division. 1920 distinguished himself in battles against General Wrangel’s troops.
