Trained as teacher.
From 1880’s active in revol movement. 1893 worked with Lenin in Samara Marxist circles. 1896 arrested and exiled to Arkhangel’sk Province.
As construction technician directed work on Tomsk Technol Institute and other major buildings and bridges in Siberia. 1905 agitation work for newspaper Novaya zhizn'. 1906 arranged printing of Bolshevik Centr organ, newspaper Vperyod, 1911 again arrested.
During 1917 October Revol in Georgia 1920 moved to Moscow and held various posts connected with textile industry in Supreme Economic Council. Contributed regular feuilletons to newspaper Izvestiya TsIK USSR i VTsIK.
Member, Auditing Commission, State Publ House. Chairman, ’’Red East” Trust. Editor work for State Publ House and Publ House of Anti-Illiteracy Social.
