1931 finished factory school in Kamyshin. Took aviation courses at flying club of Society for the Promotion of Defense and Aero-Chemical Development, Komsomolsk-on-Amur. 1940 graduated school for military pilots.
1952 graduated Higher Party School, Central Committee, All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks). Postgrad, course at Academy, of Society Science, Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
1941-1942 flew a number of successful missions against German air force. In 1943, after amputation of both legs, voluntarily continued active service as fighter pilot. Shot down some 15 aircraft during the war.
1949-1950 member, Soviet delegation 1st and 2nd World Congresses of Peace Partisans, Paris. 1954 member, Soviet delegation two congresses of International Federation of the Resistance Movement, Vienna. V.-President of this organization.
Member, Soviet Committee the Defense of Peace, since 1954. 1931-1934 metal turner in woodworking factory, Kamyshin. 1934-1938 on construction work at Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
1941-1942 fighter flight commander in airforce regiment on Volkhov Front. 1942-1943 in military hospital. 1943-1945 squadron commander in front-line Guards airforce regiment.
