1891-1895 intern, Professor A. A. Bobrov’s Clinic, Moscow. From 1895 supernumerary assistant to Professor I. North. Novatskiy, consultant, Prison Hospital and lecturer in dentistry. 1897 defended doctor’s thesis on surgery of the pancreas.
From 1898 associate professor, Moscow University, where he read a course on faculty surgery. 1900 sent to clinics in Germany, France and Switzerland for further specialist training. 1904 appointed professor, Propaedeutic Surgical Clinic, Khar’kov University.
1905-1910 director, Surgical Clinic, 1907 — 10 also director Urological Clinic, Novo-Yekalerinskaya Hospital, Moscow. 1908 sent to Professor Albarran’s Urological Clinic in Paris.
From 1910 until death professor and director, Hospital Surgical Clinic, Medical Faculty, Moscow University. 1912-1914 founder-ed, Yezhegodnik russkoy meditsinskoy pechati (Russian Medical Press Yearbook). During World War 1 consultant, various military hospitals.
Before 1917 October Revol member. Constitutional Democratic Party. After Revol, to which he refused allegiance, consultant, various establishments of Kremlin Therapeutic and Sanitary Board.
Did research on lesions of the blood after surgical intervention, the pathology of the thyroid gland, Basedow’s disease, the surgical treatment of inguinal hernia and horseshoe kidney, et cetera Devised original methods of resection of the thyroid gland and operations for inguinal and postoperative hernia, myoccles, et cetera 1928 performed operation for cholecystitis on Professor I. P. Pavlov.
