During World War 2 worked for Main Health Board, Soviet Army. 1945-1954 director, Institute of General and Experimental Pathology, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences, Moscow.
1954-1961 head, Department of General Pathology, Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Medical Sciences. Championed the theory of “nervism”. Trained numerous pathophysiologists in the theories of I.P.Pavlov, North.V.Vvedenskiy and A.A.Ukhtomskiy.
