He lives in Smethwick, Birmingham, England. Hughes has an Master of Arts in Visual Communications (cartooning) from UCE Birmingham and was Treasurer of the Professional Cartoonists" Organisation. He works from home, having formerly had a studio in Birmingham"s Custard Factory.
