Alex Malik was born in 1959 in Odessa, Odes'ka Oblast', Ukraine.
During 1974 - 1975 Alex was going to Kremenchug artistic school. After that he studied at Kharkov state art school until 1979. Finally, he studied at the Kharkov artistically-industrial academy on graphic faculty in 1979 - 1984.
Alex has taken part in art-exhibitions since 1979. He participated in regional, republic, all union and international exhibitions. He was quite successful in the art-competitions. Alex was frequently awarded for his works in different kinds of art. From 1992 to 1997 he taught speciality in Odessa state art college. In 1997 he finally decided to quit the academic job and devoted himself fully to creative work.
