Alexander Markov is a Belarusian engineer and materials scientist whose work has focused on thermoplastic composites, polymer processing, pultrusion, filler-modified materials, and the electrical and mechanical properties of glass-fiber-reinforced polymers. He conducted research in Belarus and Germany and contributed to published studies on conductive thermoplastic composites.
Education
Markov studied engineering at Belarusian State Technological University. He later completed doctoral studies in Engineering there, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2001. His academic training provided the foundation for subsequent research in polymer materials, thermoplastic composites, and related processing technologies.
Career
Markov began his professional career as an engineer at Belarusian State Technological University, where he worked from 1996 to 2002. His work developed into research on polymer materials, including thermoplastic pultrusion, filled polymers, and composite structures. From 2002 to 2003 he worked as a scientist at Hamburg University of Technology in Hamburg, Germany, and continued there from 2003 to 2006 in a further scientific appointment. During his German research period he contributed to studies of glass-fiber-reinforced thermoplastics, conductive fillers, polymer morphology, and the relationship between composite structure and mechanical or electrical performance.
Achievements
Conducted research in thermoplastic pultrusion and filled polymers, contributing to the study of processing methods and structure–property relationships in polymer composite materials.
