Career
Born in Largo in Fifeshire, Scotland in 1859, he moved to Toowoomba in June 1886 at the age of 26. He spent 35 years in Toowoomba, becoming a prominent builder and being active in local politics. He left Toowoomba in 1922 for New South Wales, and returned to Scotland in 1926, where he died in 1941.
