Education
He graduated from the Kostroma Theological Seminary in 1827, and the Petersburg Theological Academy in 1831.
Career
In 1829 he became a monk. Inspector and professor of theology of the Kaluga Theological Seminary (1831-1832). Inspector of the Petersburg Theological Seminary (1832-1840), simultaneously rector of the Alexander Nevsky Spiritual School. Rector of the Novgorod Theological Seminary (1840-1852), at the same time rector of the Antonievsky Monastery. Bishop Ostrogozhsky, vicar of the Voronezh diocese (1852-1853), at the same time rector of Alekseevsky Akatova monastery.
