Alexander Kazimiravich Serzhputouski began to publish his works since 1891. He collected valuable ethnographic and folk information for Russian Museum. In the article “Belarusians and Paleshuks” (1908, manuscript) Serzhputouski described buildings, the way of life, customs and believes of peasants from Mozyr and Sluzk regions. He was decorated with a gold medal of The Russian Geography Company for the collection of Belarusian proverbs with a dictionary (1908). Manuscripts of the collected articles “Songs of Mogilev Region” and works in ethnography “Life of Belarusians” are not kept safe. Alexander Serzhputouski learned dialects of the Belarusian language (“Grammar Sketch of the Belarusian Speech in Chudzinski Village Sluzk Pavet Minsk Area”, 1911). These manuscripts are kept in a record-keeping office in Petersburg.
