Alexander Motelevich Melihov is a Russian essayist, novelist, culturologist and candidate of physical and mathematical sciences (1974).
Background
Alexander Melihov was born on 29 July 1947 in Rossosh, Voronezh region, Russian Federation. Since 1946 Melikhov's father, a historian by training, worked as a lecturer in Rossoshanskiy teachers' college; escaping a second arrest in the late 1940-ies he returned to Northern Kazakhstan with his family.
Education
Alexander Motelevich graduated from the mechanics and mathematics faculty of Leningrad State University (now Saint Petersburg State University) (1969) where he worked at the Research Institute of Applied Mathematics.
Career
Alexander Motelevich Melihov has published more than 60 scientific studies. He has been engaged in literary activity since the mid-1970s. He was published in the magazines "New world", "Neva", "Star", "October", "Banner" and others. He is an author of more than 100 literary and journalistic works and many books of prose published in Saint Petersburg, including "Provincial" (1986), "Scales for good" (1989), "Confession of a Jew" (1994), "Novel with prostatitis" (1997), "Love-killer" (2008).
