Civil Service 1872; Barrister Middle Temple, 1883. Became Junior Secretary to Board of Revenue, North-west Provinces, 1878. Under-Secretary, to Government, 1886.
Settlement Officer, 1886.
Deputy Commissioner, 1890. Magistrate and Collector, 1891.
Commissioner of the Allahabad Division, 1897. And Commissioner of Rohilkhand Division, 1897.
Placed on special duty from 9 to 25 November 1897.
And reverted to present appointment of Commissioner Rohilkhand Division on 26 FCD. 1898 on return from privilege leave. Commanded Rohilkhand Volume
Ritle Corps, 1908, with the rank of Major.
Decorated for services in the Indian Famine, 1897, when Commissioner Allahabad Division.
