Alexey Chesnakov is a Russian political scientist and director of the Center for Current Politics.

Career
He is the author of several publications dealing with the domestic and foreign policy of Russia. Head of Information and Analytical Planning, Deputy Head of the internal policy of the Presidential Administration, 2001-2008.
Politics
Chesnakov has also served as Deputy Head of internal policy for the Administration President of the Russian Federation (2001–2008), as a member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation (2009–2010), and Deputy Secretary-General of the United Russia political party (2012–2013).
